Sorry it's taken so long to update but apparently there's no internet at OU Medical Center and I haven't left the hospital until now. The surgery went very well. Unfortunately the tumor was cancerous so they removed the whole lower section (lower lobe) of Mom's right lung to make sure they got all of the tumor. In case you're like me and didn't know, your left lung has two lobes and your right has three, and of these three the bottom lobe is the smallest. So if you're going to have a lung tumor this is the best place for it to be. The doctors took some lymph node tissue from the chest area as well but that pathology won't come back for a week. The results will ensure whether or not the caner was isolated to the tumor... so please keep praying.

Edna is so amazing! She was only in ICU for one day before they moved her to a regular room (279) She's had very little pain and is walking the halls and entertaining the doctors, nurses and other patients. The doctors are very impressed with her progress but she still has a drainage tube in her chest so she probably won't get to come home until Monday or Tuesday. I'll update when I can.
